Both annual nitrogen (N) rates and average May temperatures influence physiological diseases of apples. The annual N rate has a negative influence on calcium (Ca) content and hardness of fruits. It is possible to calculate probable incidence of physiological diseases on the basis of May temperatures and Ca content.
