Under conditions of K-deficiency fodder quality is influenced through saccharide synthesis reductions. Polygastric physiological requirements for potassium (K) in fodder rate are considerably lower than the physiological plant need. K is therefore often in surplus. K-fertilization should be regulated by K-content in plants.
