Farmers' production under the cashew promotion to replace cassava project in land reform region, Amphoe Chum Phuang Changwat Nakhon Ratchasima [Thailand]

Objectives of this research were to study some socioeconomic background of the farmers, their knowledge, producing and opinions for cashew production, including their problems and suggestions. The farmers' major occupation was cassava growing and cashew growing was their minor occupation. The average area for cashew production was 9.63 rai with the average of 433.38 cashew trees and their average earning from cashew production was 2,236.92 Baht and they mostly agreed with the cashew production. The most important problem of the farmers was company personnels, which was suggested to solve by increasing number of them. They also needed more knowledge from the governmental agencies. The hypotheses were proved that the opinions of the farmers with different income were also different but the farmers with different age, knowledge and frequency of company personnels visiting were not different.
