Dehydrogenase and cellulolytic activity of microorganisms in semigley and eugley

Microbial population (total number of bacteria and cellulolytic microorganisms), dehydrogenase activity and cellulolytic complex enzyme activity were observed in semigley and eugley soil samples taken at a depth of 30 cm. The soil was sampled three times during the maize vegetation period. The values for parameters of total biological soil activity (total number of bacteria and dehydrogenase activity), presence of cellulolytic bacteria and beta-glucosidase activity in the rhizosphere were higher than in non-rhizosphere soil in both soil types. Endogluconase activity was always higher than cellobiohydrolase activity. All values of the studied parameters were higher in eugley (higher content of C, N, P, K) than in semigley.
