Blast furnace dust, deposited in the yard of SARTIF 1913 steel mill - Smederevo (Yugoslavia) is causing serious ecological disturbances. For its considerable fertilizing effect, this dust could be used as a substitute to the common Zn-fertilizers, since it contains 10-27 of zinc and some other useful biogene elements. This was experimentally confirmed both in the field and in greenhouse. The Factory of Mineral Fertilizers - Prahovo (Yugoslavia) produced over 100,000 t of NPK-Zn (1) fertilizer using this dust.
