Application of CO2 in the semiindustrial storage of soybean

The influence of certain factors which affect the deterioration has to be prevented with the aim of quality preservation of the oilseed till the moment of processing. One of the ways to achieve this is to provide special storage conditions in a closed and airtight silo or keeping in an inert atmosphere - under CO2. Experimental silo cells were made with the aim of following the influence of different factors which are important for safe storage. Two soy samples, differing in moisture content were used. The moisture content of the control samples was 10.99 and 16.99 (moisture content higher than the critical moisture for soybean). The soybean was stored for 216 days.
