The composition of organic matter in this peat is characterized by high content of humic acids, fairly high content of fulvic acids, domination of the fraction composed of humic acids bound with clay or with stable iron and aluminium hydroxides, fairly high content of the fraction bound with calcium, and lowest content of free humic acids or ones bound with mobile iron and aluminium hydroxides. The composition of organic matter of the peat in question is characterized by lower content of hydrolyzate and a wider ratio of the sum of humic and fulvic acids to hydrolizate, which indicates good decomposition and good humification of organic matter in this peat. The organic matter in this peat is characterized by great dispersion and simpler structure of its humic acids, a lower degree of condensation and less extensive aromatization of its molecules, and lower content of chromophoric groups.
