The paper presents results of paleopedological analysis and morphogenetic properties of several loess profiles situated along the north-south transversal from Titel to Stalac, Serbia (Yugoslavia). Previous investigations attributed greater importance to erosion processes in explanation of some missing pedocomplexes, particularly in the F6 (PK6) F5 (PK5) interval or Riss-Wuerm interglacials. Our investigation did not put such importance on global erosion processes because the majority of the profiles investigated showed morphogenetic similarities between and within the paleosoils examined, which points to local erosion processes instead. Carbonate content in the profiles has been studied and suggests that besides inhered carbonate particles, there are carbonate concretions which could be either of pedogenic or non-pedogenic origin.
