Ampelographic examination of table grapevine cultivars in the Negotin viticulture area [Serbia, Yugoslavia]

For the purpose of choosing table grapevine cultivars which are convenient for growing in the agrobiological conditions of Negotin vineyards (Serbia, Yugoslavia) and establishing optimal lenght for cutting, 7 new Yugoslav and 4 famous quality table grapevine cultivars were examined. The research was carried out in the period of five years (1987-1991), and following characteristics were taken into consideration: ampelographic description of grape cultivars, phenophases, yield and quality of grapes, leaf area and resistance to low temperature. Yield and quality of grapes were examined in relation to different loading of vine with fertile buds. On the bases of the results recommendation was given for the cultivars which growing might be successful in the Negotin viticulture area.
