In order to compare the nutritive value of green mass and silage of forage sorghum, the green mass of sorghum containing two levels of dry matter have been ensiled in the experimental siloses. On the basis of the results obtained the following conclusions have been inferred: Different dry matter content in the green mass did not affect the energy concentration expressed as NEL and NEM. The concentration of NEL and NEM was higher in the green mass than in the silage, and the differences between means were statistically significant. Higher dry matter content in the green mass affected slightly the quality of silage, and both of them were apprised according to Flieg as "very good". The increased content of dry matter in the green mass decreased the losses of dry matter of silage.
