The economical aspects of using gilts in reproduction

In this project, the reproductive characteristics of gilts have been studied at one farm, since 1990 through 1993. The aggravation of reproduction and production signs is noticed in the last two years, which is the result of aggravation in production technology on the farm, due to the economical blockade and impossibility of importing the additives and other components for nutrition, as well as the medicine and other means needed in the reproductive process. Worsening of reproduction indicators and of the productivity of gilts leads to an extension of the corrected period, and of the production cost for pigs.
