Isolation of bovine viral diarrhoea virus from Charolais calves showing haemorrhagic syndromes

An hemorrhagic syndrome was reported in the U.S.A. and Canada in cattle infected by non cytopathic strains of the Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus (BVDV/MD). It was also recently reported in several herds located in the south of Belgium. Here we describe two cases of a similar syndrome identified in France; the BVD virus was isolated from blood and organs and its biotype was also non-cytopathic.
