Effect of IBA and polyamines on apple root formation, and nucleic acid content

The relation of IBA, polyamines nucleic acid and root formation was studied in apple seedling roots. Polyamines was able to promote root formation, but it was less effective than IBA. IBA promoted the accumulation of polyamines and nucleic acid, which lasted 20-27 days. Polyamines was able to increase the content of RNA and DNA. The change of polyamines levels was the same as nucleic acid content change in both control and treatment
