The authors developed the simulation software in Windows 3.1 environment. Input parameters are : the size of the base population, sex ratio, number of individuals kept for breeding, number of generations, name of simulated trait, genetic and error (co)variances between the traits, environmental effect, frequency of major gene. Output parameters are the genetic and phenotypic values of individuals by traits and environment codes. The envisaged applications are : breeding value evaluation, genetic parameter estimation, mixed model evaluation, modelling major genes, designing practical problems in teaching of quantitative genetics.
