Basic analysis of community structure of direct sowing paddy rice by stratified clip method: Comparison with transplanting paddy rice

Plant samples were taken 4 times from maximum tiller number stage to ripening stage in broadcasting paddy fields which sowing density was varied to 3 steps and in conventional transplanting paddy field. Leaf area index (LAI) in each height in rice plant communities was measured by stratified clip method and the transition of community structure was compared among cultivation methods. In spite of the same number of ultimate tillers, it was found that the transition of community structure varies with sowing (or planing) method and with sowing density in broadcasting method
