[Influence of heifer-growing technology on cows' productivity, reproductivity and the length of their usage]

The research on the heifer-growing technology in the profilactic period was carried out on the cow-farm "Ligotnes" of the Research and Training Farm "Vecauce". In the period from 1992-1996 three serial-type experiments were made with the aim to find out the best heifer-growing technology including their housing, keeping, organization on their birth and feeding. In the given paper the basic principles of the experiments are explained, the procedure of the experiments is described, the resulting experimental data are analysed.
