[Influence of pig farms on water quality]

A joint Norway and Latvia project for studying the environmental impact of previous agricultural practices including the problems of pig farms privatization is discussed. The investigation of soil as well as monitoring the quality of surface, drainage and ground waters have been carried out on four pig farms in Latvia. The investigation materials and methods are described, the resulting data are analysed and shown graphically.
