[Effect of two Bacillus species and garlic against Pseudomonas solanacearum on potato]

English. Under vitro condition at 30 deg C Bacillus subtilis and B. licheniformis are bactericides against Pseudomonas solanacearum. In the greenhouse both Bacillus inoculated on tuber permitted development of the plants without symptoms. B. subtilis and B. licheniformis increased the number of tubers. When they were acting individually and without P. solanacearum, produced an increased number of tubers, and fresh weight of 41.1 (B. subtilis) and 34.2 (B. licheniformis). Tubers treated with garlic extract against P. solanacearum permitted that plants develop the disease when they were 53 days old, this from the average of three trials.

En el invernadero, ambos Bacillus inoculados al tuberculo permitieron el desarrollo de plantas sin sintomas atribuibles a P. solanacearum; cuando se inocularon con esta bacteria en macetas, B. subtilis y B. licheniformis incrementaron el numero de tuberculos en 1 y 5 unidades. Cuando actuaron individualmente y sin P. solanacearum, ocasionaron un incremento de numero de tuberculos y del peso fresco de 41.1 (B. subtilis) y 34.2 (B. licheniformis). Tuberculos tratados con extracto de ajo contra P. solanacearum permitieron que las plantas adquirieran la enfermedad a partir de los 53 dias en promedio de tres ensayos.
