[Effect of liming on corn crop (Zea Mays) yield and some soil propierties]

English. The effect of liming on the capacity of phosphorus retention, and active and amorphous fractions of aluminum and iron in five soils from the state of Mexico was studied. In greenhouse, a corn (Zea mays L.) essay was conducted. The effect of lime on the dry matter yield and the phosphorus uptake by the plant was determined. In the greenhouse corn experiment, a completely random experimental was used, with 30 treatments and three replicates, for testing five soils, two lime levels and three phosphorus levels. The phosphorus retention capacity increased with the addition of lime in most soils. The effect of lime on active fraction of aluminum and iron was not significant. The amorphous fraction of aluminum and iron increased with the addition of CaCO3. The effect of liming on the dry matter yield of the corn was not significant, even though, in some soils there appeared to be a tendency toward an increase, and in others a decrease.

Spanish; Castilian. Se estudio el efecto del encalado sobre la capacidad de retencion de P y las fracciones activa y amorfa de Al y Fe de cinco suelos del Estado de Mexico. Posteriormente, se establecio un ensayo con maiz (Zea mays L.) en invernadero y se evaluo el efecto del encalado sobre el rendimiento de materia seca y el fosforo absorbido por la planta. Se utilizo un diseno experimental completamente al azar, con 30 tratamientos y tres repeticiones, para lo cual se probaron en cinco suelos, dos niveles de CaCO3 y tres niveles de P. La capacidad de retencion de fosforo aumento con el encalado en la mayoria de los suelos. El encalado no tuvo efecto significativo sobre la fraccion activa de aluminio y hierro, mientras que el aluminio y hierro amorfos se incrementaron con la aplicacion de CaCO3. El efecto del encalado en el rendimiento de materia seca del maiz no fue significativa, aunque en algunos suelos la tendencia aparente fue de un incremento, y en otros, de una reduccion en el rendimiento.
