The objective of this study was to increase fruit production and quantify nutritional state of "Valencia Late" orange trees treated with foliage fertilization in order to assess the technique as a cheaper alternative to soil fertilization. Experiment was set up in Martinez de la Torre, Veracruz. Orchard of "Valencia Late" orange trees grafted onto Citrus aurantium L. was used. The treatments evaluated were sprayed onto the foliage: urea with a low content of biuret (foliage urea) at 4 %; commercial urea at 4 %; Humitron at 0.4 %; complete fertilizer. The control was with soil fertilization. The treatment with the best results was urea with low biuret. However, the nutritional balance of the trees evaluated by means of the Kenworthy technique, was not different.
