Effect of seed and foliar application of plant growth regulators on the growth and yield of potato

Plant growth regulators atonik, cytozyme, and ergostim at the rate of 125, 425 and 500 ml in 100 liter of water were used as seed dip and foliar application. The number of branches per plant, plant spread, plant height and total yield were studied. The results indicated that mean number of branches per plant in seed treatment were 12.5 whereas in foliar application it was 14.7 as compared to 10.0 in control. The mean spread of plant was 54.25 cm in seed treatment, and 70.2 cm in foliar application. There was little difference in height. The total yield in seed treatment was 13.10 tonnes and in foliar spray it was 14.73 tonnes per hectare as compared to 7.92 and 8.73 tonnes per hectare in control.
