Chemical parameters like ammonia-nitrogen nitrite-nitrogen, total alkalinity, total carbon dioxide and total hardness of Swat river at Madyan Swat, NWFP, Pakistan were studied and were found to be, 0.015 plus-minus 0.003, 0.05 plus-minus 0.02, 0.77 plus-minus 0.04, 0.95 plus-minus 0.05, 14.3 plus-minus 0.79 mg/l respectively from September to December, 1990.
