Correlation studies on some commercial cotton varieties of G. hirsutum L.

Association between yield of seed cotton per plant and other economic and morphological characters viz; plant height number of bolls per plant and sympodial branches per plant and number of bolls per plant with plant height in four varieties of upland cotton viz; CIM-70 MNH-129, NIAB-78 and MNH - 93 was investigated. It was concluded that the plant height number of bolls per plant and sympodial branches per plant were significantly and positively correlated with yield of seed cotton per plant. Number of bolls per plant were also found to be significant and positively correlated with plant height in all the four varieties.
