The effects of sowing time and number of cuttings on the quality and yield of spinach were studied. Single spinach 'Kandiari' was sown at one month interval from October first to January first and was subjected to one, two and three foliage cuttings. Single cut to the crop sown on first November gave maximum seed production (1488.9 kg/ha) and percent seed germination (41%). While crop sown on first January gave minimum seed production (111.1 kg/ha), and percent seed germination (27.3) with three cuts. Three cuts to the crop sown on first January, however, enhanced the number of seeds per head (38), and number of seeds per ten grams (1483).
