Genetic evaluation and correlation studies in Brassica juncea accessions
1993
Hussain, A. | Gilani, M.M. | Aziz, K. (University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (Pakistan). Dept. of Plant Breeding and Genetics)
The present studies were made during 1989-90 to examine genetic variability between various characters of some Brassica juncea accessions. These included one standard variety RL18. Coefficient of variability percentage was higher for number of primary/secondary branches, pods per plant and yield per plant. Whereas variation in qualitative characters was very little. Genotypic and phenotypic correlation coefficients revealed that yield was positively and significantly associated with number of secondary branches and pods per plant. The accessions varied little for oil contents (32-36.80%).
