Heavy metals in forest soils along the Bydgoszcz - Inowroclaw exit road
1996
Malczyk, P. | Kedzia, W. (University of Technology and Agriculture, Bydgoszcz (Poland). Dept. of Soil Science)
Soil samples were taken from the organic horizons and tillage layers (5-10 cm) in 1994. Sampling sities were located at the distance 5, 50 and 100 m from the road. Samples were taken also from the 5 profiles in 1985 and 1994. Heavy metals (Pb, Cd, Zn and Cu) were determined by the methods AAS in solutions obtained as a result of soil samples digestion with aquaregia. The highest contents of lead, cadmium, zinc and copper were found in organic horizons. The content of heavy metals in forest soils was lowering with the distance from the road. The content of Pb and Cd in the Leptic Podzols profiles increased because of the traffic pollution in the period 1985-94
