Interdependences between oligotrophic and copiotrophic bacteria in soils of different mechanical structure

In incubated samples of different soils enriched with organic matter quantitative interrelations between copiotrophic (C) and oligotrophic (O) bacteria were estabilished. The relationship between O and C development and their response to nutrient addition depended on soil type. It was found that the O- and C- bacteria counts may be the basis for a conclusion as to the interdependencies in the development of autochtonous and zymogenous bacterial communities in equilibrated soils
