Effect of different NPK doses on sugar beet yield and feeding value
1996

It was found that as far as the fresh matter yield of sugar beet roots is concerned, the optimum nitrogen dose should be equal to 120 kg of N, while the fresh matter yield of leaves was increasing significantly up to the level of 300 kg of N/ha. The date of nitrogen application did not influence the root yield in any considerable way, and the leaf yield was significantly higer in case of combination: 1/2 of the nitrogen dose before sowing and 1/2 after plant thinning
