In order to study the influence of three elements of the first importance for the yield forming: nitrogen, sowing density, fungicides treatments utilized during the vegetation period and the influence of nitrogen fertilization on three cultivars: Mario, Speranta, Durom. Bi-factorial and three-factorial experiments have been organized on the illuvial vertic clayey chernozem, under nonirrigated conditions at Agricultural Research Station Turda. Durum cultivar(durum wheat) has been cultivated at the density of 400 and 600 g.s./m2 on four nitrogen fertilization levels: 0, 50, 100, 150 a.i. N/ha in following conditions: fungicides untreated, one treatment in stalk extension stage and two treatments in stalk extension stage and in heading stage. The results have been pointed out the importance of the nitrogen in yield forming and of his level in growth of the crude protein content in wheat grain. The utilization of the moderate rates of nitrogen fertilizers of 80-100 kg a.i. N/ha in conditions of a good phosphorus and potassium supply and of one or two fungicides treatments during the vegetation period is justified by yield increases. A higher density (at least 600 g.s./m2) have to compensate more reduced tillering capacity in spring wheat.
