The paper presents the results obtained by using of neutron method for determination of soil moisture content with the object of establishing of a water supply in subjacent layer of 75-150 c, compared to the soil water balance (0-150 cm) in maize for kernel, sunflower, wheat, soybean, dry bean, sugar beet, potato, lucerne and maize for silo in double culture, under nonirrigation and in irrigated conditions with the water optimum supply. Taking into account the bulk density and determination depth, it has been established that the scheme which provided the high accuracy of data has been consisted in gravimetric analysis of moisture content in layer of 0-50 cm depth and neutron determination in layer of 50-150 cm depth. For the reason that, the water consumption in subjacent layer, in ten studied cultures, does not exceeded 16.9 percent from total consumption in nonirrigated and 6.7 percent in irrigated conditions it follow the importance of measures for optimum water supply in layer of 0-75 cm, under irrigation.
