Evaluation of yield and selected quality parameters interactions of strawberry variety "Senga Sengana" as influenced by utilization of "Titavin" preparator
1995
Matuskovic, J.
In an experiment over 1991-94 the total yield increase of strawberries by 0.997 kg per square metre was influenced the most significantly by two applications of the foliage preparation "Titavin". One application was sufficient to increase L-ascorbic acid by 4.7 mg per 100 g in comparison with control variant. Sugar content increased from 5.1 to 5.2 %. Nitrate content was found to be directly proportionally influenced by number of applications of "Titavin", resulting in total content decrease of nitrates: 17.3 mg per kg in the control variant and 13.3 mg per kg in the three application variants. Heavy metal contents were also decreased by "Titavin" applications: Cd from 0.017 to 0.008 mg per kg, Hg from 0.008 to 0.005 mg per kg and Pb from 0.314 to 0.210 mg per kg. Finally, these nitrate and L-ascorbic acid decreases as well as accumulated Cd and Hg contents increases were limited by yields of 10 kg per square m
