Cladoceran taxocoenoses in the territory affected by the Gabcikovo barrage system [Slovakia]

The dominance and composition of cladocerans (Branchiopoda: Ctenopoda, Anomopoda, Onychopoda, Haplopoda) at selected habitats in the Danubian inland delta in Slovakia were monitored between 1991-1995. The first two years were dominated by euplanktonic species. After the barrage system at Gabcikovo was put into operation a decrease of dominance in Bosmina longirostris as well as in other pelagic species was recorded.
