Optical properties of tree leaves damaged by air pollution
1996
Astrab, J.
The impact of coagulated immission on optical characteristics of 5 broadleaved forest trees was estimated. In Polana region, acid immission type occurred. Beech (Fagus sylvatica), maple (Acer peseudoplatanus) and ash (Fraxinus excelsior) grow there. In Jelsava region, alkalic immision type occurred and beech (Fagus sylvatica), oak (Quercus petraea) and bird cherry (Prunus avium) were present. Results exhibit the direct effect of pollution on assimilatory organs with regard to relative amount of reflected and absorbed radiation. Pollution also affects total radiation balance of leaves and disturbs photosynthesis
