Some of the topics discussed in this report are: -the important topics and decisions of the eight CITES convention, -contacts and aspects of working together that can be of some importance for Suriname and some conclusions and recommendations that followed from the convention. The aim of this convention was the regulation of international trade of plant and animal species in the wild. The regulation is of importance for Suriname for a durable management of the natural fauna and flora and for the durable use of these natural resources as a source of income and as a source of employment
