Rice grain yield data from the Nickerie district, the most important rice producing region in Suriname, were analyzed to study the influence of climatic factors on grain yield. The analysis revealed a positive effect of average daily incident solar radiation during the reproductive period of the crop, and a negative effect of average daily mean air temperature during the reproductive period.
