Chakkarindr Srutthaporn | Sunthon Saengsila (Suphan Buri Field Crops Research Center, Suphan Buri (Thailand))
Experiment on filter cake applied to sugarcane was done in 1988 at Suphan Buri FCRC. The time of application 2, 4 and 6 weeks and the rate 2, 4 and 6 tons per rai for cane were the points of study. Only the effect of chemical fertilizer to cane yield. In 1989 experiments then continued studying residual effects from filter cake to ratoon. Finally, filter cake applied in plant cane showed no residual effects on yield of ratoon cane. Use of chemical fertilizer is enough to increase yield of sugar cane planted in moderately fertile soil, like a Kampangsaen Soil.
