[Ecologically pure flax production in the conditions of radioactive contamination]

In Ukraine the sowing areas of fiber flax are located in the Polissya (Forest zone) where the soils are contaminated by radionuclides as a result of the Chernobyl accident. Even on severely contaminated soils the flax plants grow and develop normally accumulating the minimal quantity of radionuclides and making it possible to use their seeds and the straw. The radionuclides content can be reduced and the ecologically pure products can be produced through the use of appropriate methods
