Diffusion of new-imported species of Amrosia artemisifolia L. and Iva xanthifolia Nutt. in Yugoslavia

Spreading of recently introduced species Ambrosia artemisifolia L. and Iva xanthifolia Nutt. in Yugoslavia is discussed in this paper. It can be concluded that both species have find a satisfactory pedological and climatic conditions for their growth quite similar to those present in their native country. Both species belong to ruderal-segetal species that are spreading more and more on cultivated areas. It applies especially for species Ambrosia artmisifolia that becomes, in some areas, the most present broadleaved weed.
