The activity of certain enzymes in the tick, argus hermanni during embryogensis

Changes in the activity of certain anzymes within the eggs of Argas (A) hermanni have been studied during embryogenesis. The Acetylcholine esterase (Ach E) activity increased steadily during embryogenesis and its isozyme patterns changes from 5 esterase isozymes bands in newly deposited eggs to 7 bands on days 4 and 6 at late embryogenesis. The patterns of Lactic acid dehydrogenase (LDH) and Malic acid dehydrogenase (MDH) activity appear to be more or less similar, with an increase during the middle (4 days) of embryogenesis till hatching. Similar change in alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and acid phosphatase (ACP) activity during embryogensis were observed, but (ACP) was relatively higher in activity (increase from day 2) Than ALP (increase from day 4) However, the activity of Glucose-6-Phosphate dehydrogenase was high during early (at first 2 day) than during late (day 4 and 6) embryogensis, the isozyme patterns of MDH, ALP and ACP did not change during A. hermanni embryogenesis
