Significance of public storage in financing agriculture and increasing farmers' income in Hungary

It can be observed recently that agricultural press and newspapers devote more and more articles to the essence and role of public storage, and to events in this field, among which, unfortunately, different legal and other problems, as well as misuses are emphasized to a greater extent as compared with concrete benefits from this system. The authors think that the ambivalent image of public storehouses in public opinion is not in the first place due to this institution itself, but rather to the lack of legal regulation (which will soon have an end) and of contactual discipline that can be observed throughout the country. The aim of the present paper is not first of all to give a historical survey and to describe particulars concerning public storage in detail, but (along with mentioning the most important rules and historical events) to demonstrate, by means of model calculations based on factual data, the possible role of public storehouses, as well as of the system of institutions connected with them, in financing agriculture and in increasing farmers' income
