The lesson of the past (e.g., the periods after 1953 and 1956) shows that integration in agriculture can be a decisive factor of creating growth conditions and resources of Hungarian economy. The present critical situation of the agricultural sector has been even caused (along with disorder in the field of proprietorship, deficiencies and gaps of financial macrocontacts) by he integration's fall into the background and the non-happening of the renewal of the integration chain. Therefore, the necessity and possibility of both external and internal linkage can be really unambiguously observed just in Hungarian agriculture. Under the present transitional conditions of regime change, advantages of the division of labour and co-operation based on modernizing methods of production and economy can be only exploited if they are linked, and create an organic system, with the decisive economic characteristic of transformation. This can be proved by the experiences of re-structured production systems gathered so far, by the motives of starting a new experiment of integration, and by the arguments of the present paper as well
