Effect of gestation and lactation upon digestive hydrolase activity in rabbits

The activity of alpha-amylase, lipase, trypsin and total proteolytic activities were compaired in the intestinal and caecal contents of non-pregnant, pregnant (day 20 and 28 of gestation), mated (day 3 after mating), lactating (day 15), and simultaneously pregnant and lactating (day 14 of lactation and day 28 of lactation) animals. The data of the present experiment suggest that the reproductive state does not alter digestive enzyme activity
