The effect of high temperature on soil aggregate stabilization

Dry and wet-sieve analysis were carried out on alluvial soil from the upper part of the mesopotamian plain. The soils were heated to temperatures of 40,60,80,100,200,300,400, and 500 hundred Centigrate. The dry sieve analysis of normal and heated soils coincided, which indicates that heating did not produce any change in aggregate stability. The wet-sieve analysis of normal and heated soils, shows that heated soil has a great change in aggregate stability, when heated to 300 hundred Centigrate than the normal soil. The function of temperature is to stabilize the aggregates in normal soil and to promote a slightly fresh aggregation. The stabilization of soil aggregates increases with increasing temperature of heating up to 300 hundred Centigrate
