Response of local lentil to seeding rates and phosphorous fertilization.1-Growth characteristics

Field experiment was carried out to study the effect of four seeding rates (60,80,100 and 120kg/ha) and four levels of phosphorous fertilizer (nil,30,60 and 120kg P2O5/ha) on vegetative growth, floweing and roots of local lentil. Increasing seed rate increased significantly plant height, lowest pod height and root depths and to some extent number of bacteria nodules/plant, while number of primary and secondary branches, number of leaves dry weight of stem and leaves and number of flowers per plant were decreased
