Estimates of heritability, correlation and path coefficient of yield components in cotton by using different kinds of entries

Data obtained from seven varieties of cotton and all possible single and three-way crosses were used to study the heritability in broad sense of six characters by using different entries to determine the most important characters which can be used as effective selection criteria for yield improvement. Simple phenotypic correlations among yield and all characters were determined, and path coefficient analysis carried out to partition the correlation coefficient to the direct and indirect effects, and then determination coefficient among each of the characters studied and yield were determined
