[Morphological and functional characteristics of ovaries, adrenal glands and thyroid glands of gilts]

Scientists of Lithuanian Academy of Veterinary have studied the ovaries of gilts during their oestrus cycle. They found histologically that 60 % of gilts had ovaries where their changes correlated with the oestrus cycle period. 40 % of the gilts had hypofunction of the ovaries and some morphological and functional changes in the adrenal glands and the thyroid glands.
