Distribution of toxoplasmosis in domestic animals in Latvia was investigated by serological methods: complement fixation test (CFT), latex agglutination test (LAT) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Using CFT method the antibodies of toxoplasmosis were detected in 1.2% of cattle, 5.0% of sheep, 3.6% of goats, 6.0% of pigs and 5.6% of dogs. They were not detected in the blood of horses and cats. In some cases of negative results by CFT method antibodies of toxoplasmosis were detected by LAT method, even in cats.
