Morphometrical diagnosis of hip dysplasia for young Rottweilers

Twenty two Rottweilers 5 to 8 months old were examined clinically and morphometrically. The following hip X-ray morphometrical parameters - the Norberg angle, femoral neck angle, position of geometrical centre of femoral head and tangential angle were determined. It was found out that such parameters as the Norberg angle, femoral neck angle and position of geometrical centre of femoral head provide most information on hip joints. It is not advisable to use the tangential angle, because the measurements are more or less subjective.
