English. The aim of this study was to evaluate the technical and economical feasibility of reducing the amount of water and the number of irrigations without affecting grain yield. Results indicated that it is possible to remove one watering and to obtain grain yields over 5.0 t ha sup-1. That means save from 2.0 ton 2.5 thousand cubic meters of water hectare sup-1. Economically three waters are equals than four waters with almost $1100 ha sup-1 of net benefic (US$323.5)

Los resultados indicaron que es factible eliminar un riego en el cultivo y obtener rendimientos de mas de 5.0 t ha sup1 de grano, lo que significa ahorros de 2.0 a 2.5 mil metros cubicos de agua ha sup-1, economicamente, tres riegos obtienen similar beneficio neto que cuatro riegos con aproximadamente $1100 ha sup-1 (US $323,5)
