English. Atrazine is widely used in corn cultivation. Its excessive use can contaminate soil, water, and other environmental spaces. This work was carried out to determine the effect of simulated rain (70 mm/h) on the behavior and persistence of atrazine in a sandy loam soil. It was found that the main factor in the vertical movement of the herbicide is leaching and that the largest application of atrazine resulted in the largest amount of residues in the lower layers of soil

Su uso excesivo puede ocasionar contaminacion del suelo, agua y afectar otros espacios ambientales. Se investigo el efecto de una lluvia simulada de 70 mm/hr sobre el comportamiento y persistencia de atrazina en un suelo franco arenoso, aplicado a dos dosis (1.5 kg/ha y 3.0 kg ia/ha). Se encontro que la lixiviacion es el principal factor de movimiento vertical de la atrazina y que la mayor dosis origino mayor cantidad de residuos en las capas inferiores del suelo
